This paper is structured as follows. In the second chapter, mechanisms that prevent consultants from dealing effectively with errors are analysed. Therewith, the industry-sector-specific conditions that might prevent TMCs from installing a large-scale safe environment are revealed. Chapter 3 highlights the mechanisms that motivate and enable consultants to manage errors effectively. Within this section the importance of social dynamics to employees’ error management is emphasized. Fourth, the findings are discussed. Within the conclusion, chapter 5, suggestions for future research are provided.
