From the introduction:
In a nutshell, I will discuss the European project using the example of the European Union. In what follows, I would like to examine the idea, which has been the all-important one in recent years, that today’s European Union owes its origins, its cohesion and its dynamism essentially to the basis of shared common values. I will discuss why and in what respects this idea is problematic and why, with regard to this idea, if we want to preserve and develop it, it would be better to understand Europe as a network of transcultural relations and thus as a transnational community of practice.
