Der Beitrag diskutiert ein zentrales Problem, welches bei der Erhebung, Verarbeitung und Kommunikation ökologischer Informationen im Rahmen eines betrieblichen Nachhaltigkeitsmanagements auftritt: das der systematischen Informationsverluste und -verzerrungen. Nachfolgend werden drei typische Informationsverlustkaskaden vorgestellt und diskutiert. Zunächst aber soll der Informationsbegriff selbst erhellt werden.
